Darletha Woods, who works as a scheduler in Surgery Business Services at West Tennessee Healthcare, has been named the organization’s employee of the month for May.
Darletha, who has been an employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for over 43 years, was presented the award by West Tennessee Healthcare vice-president Deann Thelen, and Angie Horton, Director, Perioperative & Procedural Areas, Surgery Business Services, when the Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
“She is in the shadows making sure that surgical cases are posted correctly and timely,” Amy Garner said, “Her coworkers say that does her job very professionally and accurately.
“She takes pride in her job because she knows it affects the patients’ surgical outcomes, the physicians and all the staff that have to care or assist the patient.”

“She is very patient, compassionate and sincere when posting cases with the offices,” Garner said, “She has good telephone etiquette and works well under pressure.
“If there is a problem, you would never know because she’s calm and level-headed.
