From Amy Garner, Chief Compliance & Communications Officer at West Tennessee Healthcare –
“Due to the cancellation of nonessential procedures and the closure of nonessential services, we have closed some departments temporarily and have reduced hours in others.
“Employees in those departments are being placed on leave (furlough), and others are being deployed to other areas where they are needed in the organization.
“There are no layoffs planned at this time; however, we are continuing to evaluate the financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis as we navigate through this unprecedented event.
“Furloughed employees will retain WTH benefits, and we anticipate bringing them back to work.”
