(September 24, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The West Tennessee Healthcare Board was given a presentation on technology at their board meeting on Tuesday.
Jeff Frieling, the Chief Information Officer, detailed some of the changes that have taken place over the past years in regards to technology.
While they have done a lot, Frieling notes that there is more to be done. However, the process they have implemented have been beneficial to the organization.
The benefits have manifested themselves in improved patient care and smoother processes for physicians.
The board also approved the purchase of new technology for the Human Resources department and the purchase of remote hosting. The remote hosting will act as a redundancy measure.
Imaging equipment was also approved at the meeting. The board approved the use of some shelving that is unused in an operating room to transform it into a hybrid OR.
The hybrid OR will allow surgical procedures and cardiologists use of the OR for their procedures
Property in Humboldt was approved to be sold. It is a parking lot and clinic located on Main street.
