(December 11, 2014) MADISON County — A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol when he noticed a structure fire on 470 East Wellwood Road.

According to documents, once on the scene the deputy observed a silver vehicle sitting near the residence with the passenger door opened.

The deputy reported that a corner of the home was engulfed in smoke and flames.

County fire was called to the scene. Once the fire was under control and the fire was deemed suspicious investigators were contacted.

According to reports, the fire was determined to be intentional.

The investigation is ongoing.
