If the first three hours of voting is any indication, turnout for elections in the City of Jackson will be low.

In the race for Mayor of Jackson and City Council, a sampling of six precincts produced 522 votes, with the majority – 136 – coming at North Side High School.

The VFW at 3803 Highway 45 North (North Highland Avenue), was running a close second with 128 votes cast.

At the Carl Perkins Civic Center, 42 people had voted; 74 at the Masonic Lodge, 70 at Festivities (2628 North Highland Avenue) and 72 at Pope Elementary School.
