After 30,164 people cast ballots during the Early Voting period in Jackson-Madison County, it appears a majority of the remainder of registered voters have continued the momentum.
Some of the 33 precincts have experienced lines longer than usual, but no glitches have been reported.
The previous record was 26,213 which was set in the November 2008 during the Presidential Election.
The 30,164 votes represent over 48% of the registered voters in Madison County.
Polls remain open until 7 p.m., today.
