In December 2016, Trey Smith – the nation’s No. 1 football prospect – announced he would continue his education and college football career at the University of Tennessee.
In October 2018, Smith – a 2017 graduate of the University School of Jackson – announced he had blood clots in his lungs, which caused him to miss the second half of the season.
At noon today, Smith, a A 6-foot-5, 335-pound offensive lineman for the Volunteers, will announce if he will remain at UT or forego his senior year to enter the NFL Draft.
Smith was named a Freshman All-American in 2017 and was honored as a First-Team All-SEC Selection, as voted by the league’s coaches, in 2019.
