When the Colorado Rockies used the 22nd overall pick to select Ryan Rolison, a 2016 graduate from the University School of Jackson, he became the first Ole Miss baseball player to be selected in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft since 2010.
According to a scouting report, Rolison – a draft-eligible sophomore – has good velocity and a potent fastball-curve ball combination.
The report added he does struggle with his control on occasion – something not unusual for hard-throwing young left-handers.
