JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University Women’s Basketball Head Coach Mark Campbell has announced the signing class for the 2024-25 seasons. Campbell and Associate Head Coach Sean Blackburn, have brought in seven players, including four transfers to complete the 15-person roster. Anni Buisson (Nashville, Tennessee), Alexis Callins (Martin, Tennessee), Emily Jones (Jackson, Tennessee), Kynidi Mason Striverson (Sellersburg, Indiana), Jeremia Montgomery (Gallatin, Tennessee), Aryn Roberts (Allen, Texas), Nora Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) have each signed to play at Union this coming fall.
Coach Campbell said, “We are very excited about this exceptional group coming in this year. We return eight players who understand the system and the culture of our program. The addition of these seven players will allow us to continue to pursue excellence on and off the floor. I know that these seven will give maximum effort and provide skills on the floor that can make us even more effective moving forward playing this style. All four transfers have demonstrated effectiveness at the college level and bring a wealth of experience that will impact us immediately. Our freshmen will demonstrate the effort necessary to play this style and have the athleticism to make an impact as well. They each possess great hearts and I believe that they will fit into the Union University community. We are excited about the season!”
Annie Buisson
- played four years of basketball at Brentwood Academy
- named all-region in basketball
- played five years of club basketball for the Bwright Club Team
- named to the Head Master’s List
Alexis Callins
- transferred to Union from the University of North Alabama where she played four years of basketball
- led her team to the conference tournament all four seasons
- scored over 1,000 career points at UNA, was named third-team All-ASUN, hit over 200 career three-pointers
- leading scorer at UNA in their Division I era
- named to the Dean’s List
- prepped at Martin Westview High School where she played four years of basketball
- helped her team to the district, region, and sub-state titles
- made the state tournament all four years of high school
Emily Jones
- transferred to Union from the University of North Alabama where she spent one season
- played her first three years of college at Christian Brothers University where she played three years of basketball
- member of the 1,000-point club in college, named all-region
- as a junior at CBU, was second on the team with 12.6 points per game and 29 made 3-pointers
- prepped at the University School of Jackson where she played five years of basketball and soccer
- was a Tennessee Miss Basketball Finalist, and scored over 1,000 points in high school
Kynidi Mason Striverson
- transferred to Union from the University of Evansville where she played two seasons of basketball
- named to the Dean’s List twice, earned academic all-district honors
- in 2023-24 as a sophomore, she started all 32 games for Evansville, averaging 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and hit 29 3-pointers
- averaged 6.8 points as a freshman, playing in 30 games with six starts
- prepped at Silver Creek High School where she played three years of basketball, also played two years at Louisville Make High School and one year of club basketball with Indiana Elite
- helped lead Silver Creek to the 2021 Indiana 3A State title
- named Indy Star Indiana Junior All-Star, Indiana Senior All-Star, IBCA Supreme 15 in 20222, News & Tribune Player of the Year in 2022, MSC Player of the Year, and all-state
- averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists as a senior in high school
- named academic all-state, honor roll, and earned the Indiana Core Certificate
Jeremia Montgomery
- transferred to Union from Christian Brothers University where she played three years of basketball
- led CBU as a junior with 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game
- led CBU as a sophomore with 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game
- prepped at Gallatin High School, playing four years of basketball
Aryn Roberts
- prepped at Allen High School where she played four years of basketball
- played club basketball for seven seasons
- named Academic All-State
Nora Saffell
- prepped at Sheridan High School where she played four years of basketball, four years of volleyball, and ran track for one season
- played seven years of AAU basketball
- led her team a DII Ohio Girls Basketball State runner-up finish as a sophomore
- named third team all-state as a junior and senior, while also being named the MVP of the District 12 All-Star Game named the Student-Athlete of the Year as a junior and earned OHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior.
