UPDATED 12:07 p.m, Two Fatalities Confirmed In Thursday Crash

JACKSON Tenn (July 31, 2015) – Jackson Police have released the following statement- Officers of the Jackson Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Vann Drive.

The preliminary findings indicate that a 2012 Ford Fusion being operated by 44-year-old Mr. Thomas Hogan was facing south and attempting to turn left onto Vann Drive from the driveway of a business when his vehicle was struck by a westbound car. Mr. Hogan and his wife 32-year-old Julie Hogan who was a passenger were severely injured in the crash.

Despite the efforts of Emergency Medical personnel neither of the Hogan’s survived their injuries. The westbound car was a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu that was being operated by 18 -year-old Markarious Searchy. She was also injured in the crash and is expected to make a complete recovery.

All of those involved are residents of Jackson.

At this time no charges have been filed. An investigation that will include a complete traffic crash reconstruction is underway and will continue until all aspects of the events leading up to and the crash dynamics of the crash event are scientifically determined and thoroughly documented.

Jay and Julie Hogan died as a result of their injuries received when the car they were in was struck on the side. The 2nd vehicle involved was traveling west on Vann Drive when it struck the car the Hogan’s were in as it was attempting to pull out in the 600 block of Vann Drive.
