JACKSON Tenn (April 13, 2013) – The Board of Directors for the United Way of West Tennessee announced Scott Conger as the organization’s new CEO & President.
“We are excited about the future of United Way of West Tennessee and we look forward to Scott’s leadership and the opportunity to work with him. He brings tremendous energy and vision for the future of United Way,” said Charley Deal, Board Chairman.
Deal said, United Way of West Tennessee is a local, volunteer-driven organization that helps strengthen the communities it serves by supporting health and human service nonprofits in the area and connecting people to the services that are provided throughout West Tennessee. The future and direction of United Way of West Tennessee is exciting with Conger’s leadership, the experienced and dedicated staff, the guidance of the board, and the continued support from the community.
Conger has served his community in a variety of ways. His involvement in his church, nonprofit boards, civic organizations and service on the Jackson City Council are a testament to his leadership ability and desire to serve others, according to a press statement.
“I look forward to being a part of the important work that United Way does, and am excited and humbled by the opportunity,” Conger said. “United Way plays such an important role in bringing together resources and organizations to serve the West Tennessee community, and has done so for over 70 years. The amazing staff works every day to provide that unique service to the communities in 14 counties and I am honored to be a part of that.”
Conger will assume the role on May 1, 2015.
