The Union University volleyball team posted a 3-1 (25-13, 25-18, 17-25, 25-18) win over Christian Brothers University Tuesday night at Fred DeLay Gymnasium, David Blackstock Court. Union improved to 9-1 overall and 10-2 in the Gulf South Conference. Christian Brothers dropped to 3-18 on the season and 2-10 in league play.
The win for Union clinched a spot in the GSC Championships, November 8, 11-13, 2022. Union is currently tied with Mississippi College at 10-2 for second place in the GSC, just one match behind leader West Florida. This is the fourth straight season for Union to be playing in the conference tournament.
Union was led by Alyssa Tatsch and Emily Grace Calhoon with 10 kills each. Tatch led with two aces, Jordan Vick with 31 assists, and Sydney Sample with 16 digs. Sidney Hegg, Tatsch, and Calhoon all led with three blocks each.
Up next for Union is senior night, Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m. versus West Georgia. The final home match will be Saturday, October 29 at 2 p.m. versus Valdosta State.
