JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University’s Olivia Lee, a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy, has been selected by the Gulf South Conference as Freshman of the Week.
Lee led No. 8/16 Union offensively in wins over the University of Tennessee Southern and the University of Montevallo.
Union is currently in a three-way tie with No. 23 Valdosta State University and Lee University for the top spot in the GSC Women’s Basketball Standings.
In the game versus Tennessee Southern, Lee tallied a career-high of 17 points off of 78% shooting.
Additionally, Lee tallied six rebounds and a steal in the 109-55 victory. Olivia Lee added eight points, two rebounds, and a steal in just 12 minutes of play Tuesday versus Montevallo.
The freshman from Jackson averaged 12.5 points per game and four rebounds per game. Olivia shot 10-12 (83.3%) from the floor and 2-3 (66%) from three-point range. Lee also collected one assist and two steals.
The Lady Bulldogs return home to the Fred DeLay Gymnasium at 2 p.m., Saturday – Jan. 6) for their next game versus the University of West Alabama.
