JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University women’s basketball team has been ranked fourth in both the WBCA Coaches Poll and the D2CSC Poll for the second straight week. The Lady Bulldogs are currently 9-0 overall (4-0 GSC).
According to a press release from Grace White – Union’s Sports Communications graduate assistant – Union is coming off a week in which they defeated Christian Brothers 107-35. Their success has been a team effort with four players already collecting triple digit points on the season, including Macey Lee with 131, Shanique Lucas with 114, Brooke Hampel with 104, and Lauren West with 103. Hampel also leads in rebounds with 37, and Jazalyn Anousinh has the most assists with 49.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs are two home GSC matchups against the University of West Florida and Valdosta State University, respectively named Nos. 6 and 4 in the region. On Friday, Dec. 15, Union will face West Florida at 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 17, they will go up against Valdosta State at 2:00 p.m.
