Jackson, Tenn. – Charles Wilson, 31, who was wanted for murder in Jackson was captured in Opelousas, Louisiana last week by the U.S. Marshals.
On October 31, 2022, the Jackson Police Department responded to the Rodeway Inn at 2239 Hollywood Drive.
A man was found laying at the bottom of the stairwell with a gunshot wound. He was determined to be deceased.
Jackson police investigators identified Charles Wilson as a suspect. Arrest warrants were issued for Wilson on charges of First-Degree Murder and Attempted Especially Aggravated Robbery.
Jackson police contacted the U.S. Marshals Service for assistance in locating and apprehending Wilson.
After a coordinated investigation by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson and Deputy Marshals in the Western District of Louisiana, Charles Wilson was safely taken into custody January 13, in Opelousas, Louisiana.
He will be extradited back to Tennessee to face charges.
