MEDINA, Tenn. (April 13, 2015)– Onlookers watched as emergency responders surrounded the scene in Medina Sunday afternoon.
Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas has confirmed that two teenage boys are believed to have drowned in a pond off Blackmon Road,
Thomas said the two 15-year-old boys, Sean and KeSean Collier, were with friends swimming in the pond, when according to witnesses, they observed the two boys struggling in the water.
Witnesses told authorities both boys disappeared under water as friends rushed to help. By the time the friends reached the pond, the two boys were no longer visible, said Thomas.
Sheriff Thomas said the bodies of both were recovered..
The boys were eighth grade students at Medina Middle School. There was a vigil held right after the families were notified.
