Less than two hours into the early voting period, 211 people had cast ballots at the Madison County Agriculture Auditorium, Friday.
“That’s an exciting beginning for our early voting process,” said Kim Buckley, administrator of elections, “Every voter will be asked which primary they would like to vote in, if they want of vote in a primary. You can’t vote in both – but every voter will be given the general ballot, regardless.”
Early voting for the Republican and Democratic state primaries and the Madison County general election began at 9 a.m., today, and continues through July 28.
Registered voters can vote at the Madison County Agriculture Auditorium, 311 North Parkway, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to Noon, Saturdays.
Voters are required to present a photo identification – issued by the State of Tennessee or the United States government.
