An announcement in the fall of 2017 was followed by the announcement Wednesday, that Toys R Us will close all 740 retail stores in the United States, including its location at 2139 North Highland Avenue.
The number of jobs affected is estimated to be in the range of 30,000, but it is not known how many people Toys R Us in Jackson employed.
Store hours at the Jackson store are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., today (Thursday), but management could not be reached for comment.
