Jackson’s Brandon Lay, who spent the summer touring with Kenny Chesney, and was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s 10 new country singers to watch, plays the Amphitheater at The Market, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday.
Toyota Bodine, which is celebrating 15 years in Jackson, is hosting the ‘Block Party,’ – a free outdoor concert – to thank the community for its support.
John Singleton, a singer and songwriter also from Jackson known for writing chart-topping hits, opens the concert at 6:30 p.m., with an acoustic show.
Toyota will bring the festivities to a conclusion by announcing special donations to the community.
Concert goers are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA).
Toyota Bodine, located at 310 James Lawrence Road near Airport Industrial Park, manufacturers more than 1.5 million engine blocks a year.
Production began at the 450,000-square-foot facility in 2005.
Toyota Bodine Aluminum in Jackson manufactures 4-cylinder engine blocks for Camry, Corolla, and Matrix; V6 engine blocks for, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, the Tacoma pickup, and the V8 engine block for Sequoia SUV and Tundra truck.
Toyota Bodine Aluminum ships its finished product to Huntsville, Alabama; Georgetown, Kentucky and Buffalo, West Virginia.
