Top 2 teams in weekly high school football coaches’ poll playing for state titles

The two teams that will play for state titles this weekend in Chattanooga top Grace Media Group’s WNWS.COM Baker’s Dozen weekly area high school football coaches’ poll.

McKenzie will play South Pittsburg at 3 p.m. (EST), Friday, Dec. 1, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga for the Class A state title.

Riverside will play East Robertson at 3 p.m. (EST), Saturday, Dec. 2, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga for the Class 2A state championship.

1 – McKenzie (13-1) – defeated Dresden, 25-14

2 – Riverside (12-2) – defeated Fairley, 32-14

3 – Dyersburg (13-1) – lost at East Nashville, 33-19, in the Class 3A state semifinals – season is complete

4 – Dresden (13-1) – lost at McKenzie, 25-14, season is complete

5 – Haywood (11-3) – lost at Pearl Cohn, 48-20 in the Class 4A state semifinals – season is complete

6 – Covington (10-3) – season is complete

7 – Hardin County (11-1) – season is complete

8 – Henry County (11-2) – season is complete

9 – Huntingdon (11-2) – season is complete

10 – Jackson Christian (10-2) – season is complete

11 – Union City (9-4) – season is complete

12 – Dyer County (7-6) – season is complete

13 – Trinity Christian Academy (8-3) – season is complete
