Jackson, Tenn. — The show must go on – and in this case the show is the longest running Nutcracker performance in Tennessee.
According to a press release from Summer Paris – Paris Creative Agency – Ballet Arts is thrilled to continue your favorite holiday tradition with The Nutcracker performance on December 11-13 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
“Our dancers have been working extremely hard to pull this performance off,” said Caroline Meinert, Artistic Director Ballet Arts. “This tradition has been around for decades and we want to give our dancers an opportunity to showcase their talents. Many of them have been dreaming about dancing on The Nutcracker stage since they learned to walk. We need this performance not just for our dancers, but for our community as well. We want to give some happiness and joy to our community with everything we have been through this year.”
This is Meinert’s first year as the artistic director at Ballet Arts. She has brought many new and exciting elements to this year’s performance including new scenes.
Due to COVID-19, Ballet Arts is selling a limited number of tickets for smaller performances. Seating will be spaced out from other groups to observe social distancing. All concessions will be pre-packed. To adhere to City of Jackson venue regulations, masks will be required to attend the event. Hand sanitizing stations will be set up throughout the venue. Ballet Arts asks that you do not attend if you are feeling sick.
The Nutcracker is one of two major performances for Ballet Arts. The second performance, Alice in Wonderland is scheduled for March 19-21.
