On August 18, 2014, shortly after 6:00 a.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at Dale’s Recycling, located at 645 Gerdau Drive in north Madison County.
The investigation revealed that a safe which contained a Thermo Niton XL3t Metal Analyzer was taken in the burglary.
The Thermo Niton XL3t Metal Analyzer is used for detection of various metal types and contains a small amount of radiation.
Any misuse or mishandling of this device could result in low dosage of radiation exposure.
