The Care Center of Jackson will hold a ribbon cutting on April 11, 2024 at 10 a.m., at 351 North Liberty St. in Jackson, Tennessee to celebrate the opening of the center’s transitional housing project, the Genesis Homes project.
The project will provide a secure environment that gives women access to many of the structured supports offered by The Care Center. It consists of a Director’s home, six multi-resident homes, and a garden playground area. The development allows for safe and affordable transitional housing for women and women with children as they transition from “in resident living” to independent living.
The Care Center’s mission is to provide a safe haven to women and women with children who are homeless or who have found themselves in dangerous situations. Through the teachings of Christ, The Care Center helps women prepare to be financially independent, healthy, productive members of society. The Care Center provides housing, educational tools, and spiritual guidance that allow women and women with children to adhere to a better life.
“The Care Center’s goal is to provide new beginnings to the women and women with children who pass through its doors and we could not think of a better new beginning than The Genesis Home project.” said Nathan Young, founder of The Care Center. “The project will provide transitional housing that will aid in the center’s goal to help women in need on the path to security and independence.”
The Care Center is a Christian organization established in 1992 whose mission is to serve the homeless and abused women and their children. Many of these women have found themselves in a particularly dangerous situation, often as a victim of abuse.
The Care Center provides free and safe in-residence living, as well as affordable housing programs, such as the Genesis Homes program, to help women regain independence and have the skills necessary to be confident and successful members of society.
