The Care Center fundraises for expansion project

JACKSON, TENNESSEE – The Care Center of Jackson plans to expand its services with “The Genesis Homes” campaign.

According to a press release from Roshni Patel – Adelsberger Marketing – the campaign will concentrate on creating transitional housing for women and women with children in the supportive environment of the center.

Transitional housing provides a safe and secure environment that gives them access to many of the structured supports offered by The Care Center, but also helps them take a step forward towards a successful and independent life.

“Securing funds to build The Genesis Homes will positively impact so many women and children struggling to gain re-entry to full independent living,” says Nathan Young of The Care Center. “We hope to give struggling women a safe haven and the guidance and support to be the very best version of themselves.”

The project will eventually consist of a Director’s home, six resident homes, and a garden playground area.

The development will provide safe and affordable transitional housing for women and women with children as they transition from “in resident living” to independent living.

Residents will be required to pay income based rent. Each resident home will house 12 women with six bedrooms, three bathrooms, a common area, kitchen, laundry room, and small office.

They will remain under the programming of The Care Center, with access to many of the services and activities provided by the center, but with more freedom to guide them toward successful re-entry to full independent living.

With Phase I of funding complete, the center hopes to continue fundraising efforts to grow and expand The Genesis Homes and continue being a refuge for those that are most vulnerable and need it most.

The Care Center of Jackson will hold a ribbon cutting for the project at 9 a.m., May 24, at 351 N. Liberty Street.

The Care Center is a Christian organization established in 1992 whose mission is to serve the homeless and abused women and their children. Many of these women have found themselves in a particularly dangerous situation, often as a victim of abuse.

The Care Center provides safe and affordable housing and programs to help women regain independence and have the skills necessary to be confident and successful members of society.
