TCA grad Brynne Lytle named 1st team All-Gulf South Conference

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Christian Brothers University women’s basketball player Brynne Lytle was named First Team All-Gulf South Conference, as voted on by the league’s coaches.

Lytle, who earned second team honors last season, is the first CBU women’s player to earn All-GSC honors in back-to-back seasons since Breanna Ridgell (2013-14-2014-15).

Lytle finished the season as the league leader, and sixth in NCAA Division II, with 24.3 points per game, which is eighth in GSC history. The Jackson native, and Trinity Christian Academy graduate, also finished second in NCAA Division II with 38.8 minutes per contest. Lytle improved her scoring average to 25.7 points per game in conference contests, while also averaging 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

The junior earned three Gulf South Conference Player of the Week honors. Lytle had multiple impressive runs during the season, including a streak of 28 consecutive made free throws, a mark which is tied for third in league history. She also scored at least 25 points in 14 different games and a streak of at least 24 points scored in 11 consecutive games.

Lytle helped the Lady Bucs earn 10 victories in conference games, which is tied for the highest total since 2016-17. The 10 league wins were one shy of being the most since the 2003-04 team that went 13-4 in league play.
