Suspect Injured During Arrest, Investigation is Underway
Santos Holmes was wanted on three outstanding warrants when he fled police after being stopped in the Indian Hills Subdivison of Jackson.
When Holmes was approached by police he had outstanding warrants for failure to pay child support and driving violations. Holmes would have been taken into custody but before that happened Holmes tried to flee the officer.
Holmes ran to a neighbors yard and tried to scale a fence but the officer deployed a TASER to subdue him.
Holmes received serious injuries while being apprehended including injuries to his eye. Police confirm the Holmes had eye surgery for the injuries.
Major Thom Corley confirms that there is an investigation into the incident and that it is standard practice anytime “less-than-lethal” force is used. According to Corley the officers are still active.
Holmes faces charges of evading arrest in addition to the charges for child support, and driving offenses
