From the Jackson Police Department –
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to Vanderbilt Children’s Specialty Clinic at 37 Sandstone Circle for a reported bomb threat.
In a coordinated response with the Jackson Fire Department the building was evacuated and following a preliminary search a suspect was located in the building and was determined to be safe after JPD Canines trained to detect explosives conducted an additional search.
A preliminary investigation reveals the bomb threat and the suspect is in custody.
We appreciate the bravery of the clinic personnel in reporting this incident promptly and would like to commend their courage.
