In-person classes at Jackson-Madison County Schools have been suspended Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 23-24.
“Like so many other districts throughout the nation, there is a continual rise with COVID-19 cases in schools,” said Dr. Marlon King, Superintendent of Jackson-Madison County Schools, “We are seeing an increase in numbers, and for me, it is important to assess our current landscape.
“I am extremely concerned about the health of our employees, students and community.”
Dr. King said the two days will provide a full week for Thanksgiving Break.
Following the break, students in secondary grades will shortly begin final exams and End-of-Course exams.
King said by then, “We will only have a few more weeks until the Christmas Break.”
