The Jackson Madison County Board of education is scheduled to interview two candidates for the interim superintendent position tonight. The first interview begins at 5 p.m. at the school system central office.
However prior to the interviews, chairman Kevin Alexander called a board meeting to begin at 4 p.m., Thursday. One item on the agenda is discussion of a public/private partnership agreement, which includes funding for 3 schools…a JCM middle school, a JCM high school, and a move of Madison Academic to the University of Memphis Lambuth campus.
Also scheduled is consideration of a land option for a new K through 8 school in the northwest district of Madison County. The board is also considering other optional land opportunities. The board will hear from Dr. Eric Jones about possible other locations, In March, the board approved an additional 6 month option on land surveyed and approved for construction.
At 5 p.m., the Jackson Madison County school board will begin interviews for the superintendent slot. Two candidates are being considered for the interim position. The candidates are Chief Academic Officer Jared Myracle and Chief Operations Officer Ray Washington.
The board is scheduled to make a decision at tonight’s meeting after the interviews.
