(July 11, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The annual Summer Celebration and Garden Show took place Thursday at the UT Gardens in Jackson. A variety of Tennessee plants and wildlife were shown. Communications specialist, Ginger Rowsey, explains the details.

This year the Summer Celebration’s theme was “Wild Tennessee” and featured many live animals indigenous to Tennessee.

This year was also the first Summer Celebration since the Jackson UT Gardens was named one of the Volunteer State’s official botanical gardens.

Some of the celebration’s highlights were the AgSearch wagon tours, the 4H All-Stars food tent, tours and talks about personal landscaping, cooking demonstrations given by the UT Kitchen Divas, and free testing of soil pH levels offered by UT gardening experts.
