Planning commission approves new construction home sites for Jackson-Madison County

A first step for the construction of 65 new homes – single family residential – in Jackson and Madison County was approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission during its monthly meeting at City Hall, Wednesday.

The commission approved consideration of a final plat for –

– Emerald Shores Section 3, comprising of 11 lots on 5.94 acres.
The request was submitted by Surveying Services, Inc., on behalf of Emerald Shores Partners.

– Shepherd’s Field Section 13, comprising of 15 lots and one common area on 6.56 acres.
The request was submitted by Surveying Services, Inc., on behalf of Diffee & Holmes Partners.

– Walnut Trace North Section, comprising of 10 lots and one common area on 5.10 acres.
The request was submitted by Surveying Services, Inc., on behalf of Trace Partners.

– Walnut Trace North, Section 19, comprising of 21 lots on 6.71 acres.
The request was submitted by Surveying Services, Inc., on behalf of Trace Partners.

– Wyndchase, Section 19 comprising of eight lots on 4.07 acres.
The request was submitted by Surveying Partners, Inc., on behalf of Emerald Breeze Partners.

Consulting contract for engineering service for access road first step for arrivalof Great Wolf Lodge in Jackson

When the Jackson City Council approved the consideration of a consulting contract for engineering service for an access road for the proposed Great Wolf Lodge, it all but signaled the tourist attraction is headed for Jackson.

Great Wolf Lodge is looking at an approximate 40-acre site at the Tiger Jones Technology Park off Interstate 40 at exit 85 near the Ballpark at Jackson and West Tennessee Sportsplex.

The road would to the site would be developed off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive near Ridgecrest Road.

If the $150 million proposed project comes to fruition, Jackson officials have previously stated the 450-room Great Wolf Lodge would create 500 jobs — 250 full-time and 250 part-time positions. An additional 500 construction jobs would be filled over the course of the project.

Jackson Beer Board approves 5 permits – 4 special occasion, 1 business – during monthly meeting

The Jackson Beer Board approved requests – four special occasions and one business – for beer permits during its monthly meeting at City Hall, Tuesday.

Randy Hall was approved for a special occasion permit for an event known as the Jacob Barker Music Festival for selling, storing and serving off the premises where sold Oct. 8-9, at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market.

Dave Bratcher was approved for a special occasion permit for an event known as ‘Dancing with the STARs,’ for selling, storing and serving off the premises where sold Oct. 21, at the Jackson Fairgrounds.

Ann Keyl was approved for a special occasion permit for an event known as ‘West Tennessee Oktoberfest,’ for selling, storing and serving off the premises where sold Oct. 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1665 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

Lamont Ingram was approved for a special occasion permit for an event known as the 4th annual ‘Hub City Fight Night,’ Oct. 29-30, for selling, storing and serving off the premises where sold at at Oman Arena.

Paul Signa was approved for a business permit for a business known as Doe’s Eat Place, 407 East Main Street, for selling, storing and serving off the premises where sold.
