According to company management, Family Dollar has announced its retail store at 1011 Old Hickory Boulevard, will close January 31, 2026.

 

Merchandise is being discounted up to 30 percent.

McDonald’s opens new restaurant on North Highland Avenue

 

McDonald’s restaurant, 3205 North Highland Avenue, near Kroger on West University Parkway, has opened.

 

The  building – located on 1.17 acres – will consist of 3,694-square-feet, and offer 37 parking spaces for the restaurant, which will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

 

The newest McDonald’s becomes the sixth in Jackson, joining restaurants at 1915 N. Highland Ave., 1705 S. Highland Ave., 16 Stonebrook Place, 20 Chloe Place and 1918 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

 

USJ’s annual ‘Holiday Mart’ at Carl Perkins Civic Center, November 21-23

 

The University School of Jackson host the annual Holiday Mart, the school’s largest Fundraiser, will be held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, November 21-23.

The consideration of a request to rezone property located at Hillary Drive and Blake Street, has been approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
