Hitachi Energy expanding manufacturing operations in this West Tennessee county

 

Company to create 100 new jobs and invest an initial $97 million
Additional jobs to position company as second-largest employer in Crockett County

 

ALAMO, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Hitachi Energy officials announced today the company is expanding manufacturing operations in Alamo, Tennessee.

 

Hitachi Energy will invest an initial $97 million and create 100 new jobs through the project with plans for future growth. The additional investment in Alamo will allow the company to expand its manufacturing presence, increasing its total capacity for transformer components such as high-voltage direct current (HVDC) bushings across the globe. Upon completion, the expansion will solidify Hitachi Energy’s position as the second-largest employer in Crockett County.

Construction continues on this fast food restaurant on North Highland Avenue

 

An opening date has not been announced, but construction continues on a new McDonald’s restaurant at 3205 North Highland Avenue, near Kroger on West University Parkway.

 

The building – located on 1.17 acres – will consist of 3,694-square-feet, and offer 37 parking spaces.

 

The newest McDonald’s becomes the sixth in Jackson, joining restaurants at 1915 N. Highland Ave., 1705 S. Highland Ave., 16 Stonebrook Place, 20 Chloe Place and 1918 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

 

Brand name changes at hotel on North Highland Avenue at I-40

 

Renovations continue at the former La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham at 2370 North Highland Avenue.

 

The brand name becomes Wingate by Wyndham and Hawthorn Extended Stay, and is expected to open by early September.

 

Wingate by Wyndham will offer 54 rooms and Hawthorn Extended Stay will have 41 rooms.

 

The facility was constructed on 2.17 acres in 1985, and offered 42,822-square-feet.
