Commercial property on Vann Drive sells for $1.1 million plus
Gateway Properties, L.P., a Mississippi limited partnership, has sold 817 Vann Drive, to Ram Express Incorporated of Jackson.
The 12,000-square-foot facility sold for $1,150,000.

‘A truly historic undertaking’ – Jackson Country Club announces course reopening
The Jackson Country Club is proud to announce September 12th will mark the completion and reopening following the restoration and renovation of the Club’s golf course. Architect Kris Spence of Spence Golf has completed the work.
The multi-million-dollar project has upgraded every area of the Golden Age golf course that was built in 1929.
The upgrades include: a state-of-the-art irrigation system, new USGA spec green complexes with TifEagle Bermuda, new tee boxes with Zeon Zoysia, new fairway grass with TifTuf Bermuda, new cart paths, renovation of all greenside and fairway bunkers, and new bunkers and landforms have been added throughout the course.
Additionally, a new practice facility featuring a 7,000-square-foot putting green and a 1.5-acre short game practice area have been completed. A total renovation of existing holes 8 and 9 has also occurred. Number 8 has become a scenic par 3 and number 9 has become a dramatic 615-yard par 5.
“The restoration is a truly historic undertaking that we fully funded with no debt,” said Hunter Simmons, President of the Board of Directors. “We look forward to unveiling the enhanced JCC golf course for our members.”
The restoration has resulted in added length from the championship tees with a total yardage over 7,000 yards. However, for members, multiple tee box choices will result in a course that all skill levels will enjoy.

The consideration of a final plat for Morford Subdivision Section 9 – comprising of 27 lots and one common area on approximately 9.59 acres – has been approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
Located off Campbell Street near North Parkway Middle School, plans for the Single Family Residential District were submitted by Surveying Services, Inc. on behalf of S&J Partners.
Ford spokesperson issues statement on delay in production at BlueOval City
Following news concerning a delay in production at BlueOval City, a ‘Ford spokesperson’ issued the following statement.
‘Prototype builds remain scheduled for 2027’
“We communicated timing adjustments for our next-gen electric van and electric full-size pickup to our suppliers and employees in June. F-150 Lightning, America’s best-selling electric truck, and E-Transit continue to meet today’s customer needs. We remain focused on delivering our Ford+ plan and will be nimble in adjusting our product launch timing to meet market needs and customer demand while targeting improved profitability.’
In September 2021, Ford announced the $5.6 billion project to build electric F-Series pickups at the 3,600-acre parcel of land – the Memphis Regional Megasite.
The Ford Motor Company broke ground in 2022 on the construction of steel structures in Stanton, located about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Jackson.
Ford’s Campus at BlueOval City will be the home of the Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center and BlueOval SK. BlueOval SK is a joint venture with Ford and SK On, which will build batteries at the Tennessee site and Glendale, Kentucky.
When complete, the project is predicted to boost the economies of several counties throughout West Tennessee. Ford plans to employ about 6.000 workers at the plant, while construction of the factory and the arrival of Ford suppliers will create jobs that number in the thousands.
