Planning Commission approves design review for new commercial development in Madison County
Jackson, Tennessee – The consideration of a design review application for 1515 Commercial Park, located at U.S. Highway 70 East near Jackson State Community College, was approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission during their monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Wednesday.
The proposal was submitted by Brookstone Group, LLC, on behalf of 1515 EJ LLC.
“It is basically going to be flex space, about 60,000-square-feet total on approximately 4.5 acres” said Courtney McCracken, co-owner, developer of 1515 EJ LLC, “There will be 34 units, 1,800-square-feet each, which are modular, so people can take out the wall in between and make it 3,600-square-feet – office space, warehousing, small businesses … plumbing, HVAC, mobile detailing … office, bathroom, warehouse in the back.”
Frontage Road, Sterling Farms Drive – construction continues on 240-unit apartment complex
Construction continues on a new 240-unit apartment complex off U.S. Highway 45 Bypass (Frontage Road, Sterling Farms Drive) near LIFELINE Blood Services.
Located on 20.24 acres, the complex will feature nine, 1-2 & 3 bedroom residential buildings, with garages, a clubhouse and swimming pool.
Owned by Banner Properties in Nashville, Hannah Constructors is the lead contractor for the project.
Amazon last mile delivery facility coming to Jackson-Madison County
JACKSON, TENNESSEE – Amazon is set to establish a last mile facility in Jackson-Madison County, which will allow the company to better serve customers in west Tennessee. The facility, which is 65,000 square feet, will be located off of Highway 223 and Lager Lane in Jackson. Launch plans for this facility are in the very early stages, as construction work began last month.
Last mile facilities prepare customer orders for delivery. Overall, the company’s footprint in Tennessee includes multiple operation centers and a corporate office in Nashville.
Since 2010, Amazon has created 24,000 full and part-time jobs in Tennessee and invested more than $20.5 billion in the state through infrastructure projects and compensation. Most hourly employees in customer fulfillment and transportation earn between $17 and $28 per hour.
Starbucks opens new Jackson location at 12 Stonebridge Blvd.
Starbucks has opened its newest Jackson location at 12 Stonebridge Boulevard.
The new location – which is the former home of Krystal – replaces an existing Starbucks at 907 Vann Drive.
Business hours are 5 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 6 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 6 a.m. – 8 p.m., Sundays.
The new restaurant includes a drive thru window.
