Steve Maroney, an attorney at Teel and Maroney in Jackson, has been appointed as the Chancellor of the Chancery Court – 26th Judicial District – which is comprised of Madison, Chester and Henderson Counties.
Appointed by Gov. Bill Lee, Maroney earned his J.D. at the University of Memphis Humphreys School of Law and his bachelor’s degree at Union University.
Maroney fills Chancellor James Butler’s vacancy, effective immediately.
Chancellor Butler retired June 30.
Maroney was born in Jackson, August 7, 1965, and admitted to the bar in 1992, Tennessee and U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee.
