(December 10, 2014) JACKSON Tenn — Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist says his office has been informed that funding for the project along the Keith Short Bypass from Interstate 40 to Old Hickory Boulevard has been authorized .
The project includes the realignment of the Casey Jones Lane at the Carriage House Drive intersection to allow left turns, and eliminate the current U-turn for returning Interstate traffic.
Initial steps are now being taken for the right-of-way phase of development.
At December’s City Council meeting the council approved a motion allowing TDOT to begin working on the left turning lane for Casey Jones Lane.
Gist said the word was received from  Commissioner John C. Schroer of the Tennessee Department of Transportation that work was approved for fiscal year 2015
