STAR Center expanding into Middle Tennessee area

The STAR Center, 1119 Old Humboldt Road, is pleased to announce its service expansion into Middle Tennessee.

Through a partnership with the State of Tennessee’s Vocational Rehabilitation Department, The STAR Center, 925 South Church St., Murfreesboro, will be providing Assistive Technology services to the 41 counties in the Middle Tennessee area – according to a press release from Cassidy Sheppard – STAR Center Marketing and Events Manager.

“The STAR Center was founded in 1988 on the purpose of making things possible for people with disabilities,” stated Dave Bratcher, The STAR Center President, “We are excited to continue that tradition to this day for clients located in two major regions of Tennessee.”

The STAR Center offers assistive technology services to individuals with a full range of disabilities, including physical, emotional, learning, and sensory. Assistive technology solutions are customizable to accommodate the unique needs of each individual and the goals that they have for independence.

While not exclusively so, these technology solutions tend to be electronically sophisticated, though there are countless low-tech options available as well.

“As someone who has spent the last 20 years of my life in Assistive Technology, I am so excited about the opportunity to serve more families in Middle Tennessee,” said Jennifer Cunningham, Vice President of Client Services.

Assistive Technology services will include:
• Information and evaluations for assistive technology.
• Demonstrations of both low-tech and high-tech devices.
• A reutilization and loan program for devices and equipment.
• Adaptations for computers and smartphones.
• Workplace accommodations and accessibility.

Anyone interested in The STAR Center’s Assistive Technology services can call 1-800-464-5619.
