Jackson Tennessee is designated as a Mental Health Practitioner shortage area (HPSA Name: Mental Health Catchment Area 23) and LifeWorks Resources LLC is working hard to improve access to all residents of West Tennessee.
LifeWorks Resources LLC, 1186 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass, Suite D, is proud to announce an expansion of services to include prescribing and medication management for mental health conditions.
Whether someone needs a medication evaluation or psychotropic medication management, we are excited to have Stacey Groves, Physician Assistant, join the team at LifeWorks Resources as we continue to provide professional mental health services in West Tennessee.
People who need medication such as an antidepressant or mood stabilizer will now be able to receive the needed evaluation and management.
LifeWorks Resources is in-network with most major insurance companies as well as TNCare as well as providing services to those who prefer to self-pay.
Jackson and West Tennessee have been an underserved area for psychiatric services and LifeWorks Resources is proud to be able to help close that gap.
• Clients who are established with a counselor will also be able to receive medication evaluation
and management while maintaining services with their existing counselor.
• Others may choose to receive counseling with one of the counselors on staff at LifeWorks
Resources.
• Some may need medication management and not have an immediate need for counseling
services.
Stacey Groves, PA, and the team at LifeWorks Resources will work with the client to determine the best plan for their specific context and needs.
LifeWorks Resources LLC has been offering professional counseling services in Jackson TN since 2014 and continues to expand services to improve access to mental health services in West TN, providing over 3,000 counseling sessions per year.
Madison County is designated as both a low income as of May 11, 2022, and geographic Mental Health Practitioner Shortage Area as of September 10, 2021. The low-income designation means that there are not enough providers serving the population in the area that lives at 200% below the Federal Poverty Line.
This is one of the main reasons that LifeWorks Resources has worked diligently for providers to be in-network with all TNCare (Medicaid) networks.
The geographic designation, which for Madison County is the entire county (Rural Health Information Hub), indicates that there is a shortage of Mental Health Practitioners (both Psychiatric and Counselors) for the population of the area. According to HRSA, Madison County needs an additional 20.48 providers to reach the ratio of providers to population. This is a significant need considering the continued and anticipated growth of the area.
According to USA Facts 46.82% of Tennesseans live in a Mental Health Practitioner shortage area and the Kaiser Family Foundation (Sept 2021) indicates that Tennessee shortage areas needs 247 practitioners in order for the HPSA designation to be removed because only 15.3% of the current need is met.
