Looking for a second Southern League title in three years, the Jackson Generals will open its League Championship best-of-five series against the Biloxi Shuckers at The Ballpark at Jackson, at 6:05 p.m., Tuesday.
The Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, won four of its nine games against the Shuckers (Milwaukee Brewers) this season.
The teams will play game two in Jackson, before the series shifts to Biloxi for game three.
Games four and five will also be played in Biloxi – if necessary.
The Generals advanced to the Championship Series after winning game five at Montgomery, 11-7, Sunday.
Kevin Medrano (2-4), Josh Prince (2-4), Jay Gonzalez (2-3), Dom Miroglio (2-4) and Evan Marzilli (2-5) accounted for 10 of Jackson’s 13 hits.
Bo Takahashi allowed three runs, and surrendered three hits and walked one, while striking out four in 5.1 innings to pick up the win.
