Shoplifting Suspects Identified and Arrested

Target Shoplifting Suspects Identified and Arrested within 4 Hours of Releasing Video Surveillance; Police Recover Stolen Property

A Denmark man and Jackson teen were identified and arrested, and stolen property was recovered within four hours of the suspects’ pictures being released to the media in a Target shoplifting.

Terrell Ellison, 19, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested together at a Jackson home around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police recovered two stolen cell phones at the time of the arrests and have returned them to Target.

Ellison and the 16-year-old boy were both charged with felony shoplifting. At an arraignment this morning in Jackson City Court, Ellison’s bond was set at $2,000. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail in lieu of bond.

Ellison’s next scheduled court date is Sept. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in Jackson City Court.

The teen had a detention hearing today in Madison County Juvenile Court. He was released to a parent. The teen will have a hearing in Juvenile Court on a date to be determined.

On Aug. 9 around 8:20 p.m., two unidentified people went to the electronics section inside Target at 93 Stonebrook Place and stole two Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phones.

Investigators obtained video surveillance of the two suspects inside Target. The video surveillance was released to the media Tuesday afternoon. Within four hours, police had received a tip from a citizen identifying Ellison and the teen, which led to their arrest and the recovery of the stolen cell phones.
