JACKSON Tenn — A Madison County Grand Jury returned no bill in the case of a Jackson Police officer involved shooting.
At the request of the D.A’s office the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducted  an investigation into a shooting death of Cinque DJahspora by a Jackson Police Department officer.  According to a press release from District Attorney General Jerry Woodall, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation recently completed its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
On Monday the evidence from the TBI’s investigation was presented to a Madison County grand jury for consideration of whether any criminal charges are appropriate related to the death of Mr. DJahspora.
According to the District Attorney, after hearing evidence the Grand Jury declined to authorize any charges.

Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser held a press briefing to release police cruiser dash cam video. The video captures the incident from the time the officer arrives until DJahspora is shot and EMS is called.

The police cruiser front dash cam catches what the officer saw as he approached and stopped Mr DJahspora.  Audio is also captured by the recorder.
BACKGROUND
JACKSON Tenn — On November 6, 2014 around 4:36 p.m. officers were dispatched to an area near the entrance of Timberlake Estates on North Parkway. The caller reported a man in the area causing a disturbance.
As one of the officers arrived in the area he observed a man on the side of the road matching the description provided by the caller who reported the disturbance
The officer got out of his patrol car to investigate and was attacked and stabbed by the man now identified as 20-year-old Cinque DJahspora.
The officer then shot DJahspora
Ambulance crews transported the DJahspora and the officer to Jackson Madison County General Hospital the victim was pronounced dead at the emergency room, the officer was treated and released.
