Sheriff’s Department looking for help to load trailer with non-perishable items for Waverly flood victims

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is hoping a trailer that sits between the two entrances to Walmart North, 2196 Emporium Drive, will be full of items that will help residents of Waverly and Humphreys County, which was devastated by flooding, last Saturday.

“We’re collecting non-perishable items – diapers, cleaning supplies … anything anybody wants to donate for the flood victims,” Deputy Mark Reeves said, “Waverly and Humphreys County … even Houston County, anything we can do in Jackson and Madison County, that’s what we’re trying to do.”

The effort, which began Wednesday, runs through Friday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., each day.

Deputy Reeves, who is the coordinator for this special humanitarian drive said “cash donations will be accepted and receipts will be given.”

Checks should be made out to the Madison County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

You may also bring these items to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 317 Denmark-Jackson Rd, in Denmark, TN 38391.
