Attacks that began in Knoxville, Saturday, made their way to Jackson, Monday, when Dr. Manny Sethi, a Tennessee trauma surgeon, who is running for an open Senate seat, continued calling for President Donald Trump to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious diseases expert amid a pandemic.

Sethi joined Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for a campaign rally at Volunteer International, Monday.

“I’ve been asked this question a lot the last few days … people are asking me a lot about this coronavirus, and here’s the thing, I don’t take (coronavirus) lightly, but I think it’s time for this guy Fauci to go,” Sethi said, “Fauci and others want to shut down America, again, and I think it’s wrong. The President should take this guy to the board room and say ‘You’re Fired.'”

Sethi didn’t let up when he mentioned Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg who has been outspoken about Hydroxychloroquine.

“Where does Facebook and Twitter get off talking about Hydroxychloroquine,” Sethi said, “Hydroxychloroquine saved the life of one of my colleagues, who was admitted in the ICU and (almost) put on a ventilator.

“Where did Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook get his medical degree?” Sethi asked, “Get these politicians and these Democrats out of our science. The time has come.”

Sethi is running for the seat being vacated by Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, who is retiring at the end of his term.

The Tennessee primary will be held Thursday.
