PARIS – Funeral services for J.C. “Jay” Kennedy, 18, will be held at 11 a.m., at Tennessee Valley Community Church, 2500 E. Wood St., in Paris, Saturday.

Kennedy, a 2018 graduate of Henry County High School, lost his life following a one-car accident about five miles southwest of Paris on Highway 79,Tuesday.

Kennedy, who had signed to play football at Bethel University, was an offensive lineman, and had participated in a newcomer camp at the school shortly before the accident.

Bethel University head football coach Brent Dearmon issued the following statement – “Our staff and players are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family.”
