A section of McClellan Road near Pleasant Plains Road is expected to reopen Friday, according to Scott Chandler, City of Jackson engineer.
“It’s OK to drive on, but we will not reopen the road until its been striped,” Chandler said. “The lanes are similar, but there’s extra width at the shoulder. We also took down some trees that opened up visibility.”
Chandler said additional guard rails will also be installed on the section of the road, which was widened about 1,400 feet.
The cost of the project – which also included the widening of a bridge – is about $535,000, or $30,000 less than the budgeted $565,000.
