MADISON CO, Tn. — Wednesday afternoon Jackson Madison County school bus was involved in a wreck along Highway 70 about five miles north of Interstate 40. According to a release from the school system the driver of the bus has been issued a citation
The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 70 and Poplar Lane. According to accident reports the bus was crossing the highway from 7 Oaks Drive when it was struck by a car.
Authorities say one student, a boy, was transported by ambulance to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other students on the bus were released at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injures, according to the release.
The bus driver has been relieved of duties pending the outcome of an investigation, the release states. The accident investigation is ongoing
