Ryan Rolison, a 2016 graduate of the University School of Jackson, has started two games with the Lancaster (Calif.) JetHawks, the Advanced High A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies of the California League.
Rolison – who has a 1.50 earned run average – has worked 12 innings, allowed two runs (earned), 10 hits, walked two, while striking out 11 hitters.
Rolison, a left-handed pitcher, began the 2019 season with the Asheville (N.C.) Tourists of the South Atlantic League.
He was 2-1 (0.69 ERA) in three starts with Asheville.
He worked 14.2 innings, struck out 14, and allowed eight hits and one earned run.
Rolison was selected 22nd overall by the Rockies in the 2018 MLB Draft.
He played baseball collegiately at Ole Miss for two years, and completed his first year of professional ball with the Grand Junction Rockies, the Pioneer League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies in September 2018.
He started 10 games, worked 32 innings, allowed 18 hits, seven earned runs, walked eight and struck out 40 batters.
