Ryan Rolison, a 2016 graduate of the University School of Jackson, begins year No. 2 in professional baseball with the Asheville (N.C.) Tourists, the Class A South Atlantic League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
Rolison, a left-handed pitcher, was selected 22nd overall by the Rockies in the 2018 MLB Draft.
He played baseball collegiately at Ole Miss for two years, and completed his first year of professional ball with the Grand Junction Rockies, the Pioneer League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies in September 2018.
He started 10 games, worked 32 innings, allowed 18 hits, seven earned runs, walked eight and struck out 40 batters.
