Bart Walls, Madison County Highway Superintendent, has authorized the closure of Old Medina Road at the railroad just north of the Forked Deer River near Bakers Chapel Road, at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28.

The closing is for the repair of the railroad crossing.

The work is expected to be completed and the road re-opened by the end of the workday, THURSDAY, Dec. 1.

Traffic that normally travels Old Medina Road coming from the northern part of Madison County or the City of Medina into Jackson, or leaving Jackson heading to north Madison County or Medina should utilize alternate routes such as Christmasville Road or U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

There will be detour route signage redirecting traffic at Ashport Road as well as north of the site on Old Medina Road near the county line.

Please be alert and considerate of the presence of construction workers during this time.
